Brilliant sugar turn over

I've watched this pair of shoes in the shop window practically every day for months now, either on my way to or from work. I've been looking for an excuse to buy them, and today I was such a good girl at the doctor's office that I allowed myself the indulgence. I nearly fainted at the doc's office after having donated lots and lots of blood (well, a little bit, anyway) to the cause of finding out what my allergies are, and the receptionist woman who'd just taken my blood was all "Are you okay? Do you need some water? Do you need to sit down??", while I tried to pretend I was fine. At first I didn't understand why I got so dizzy, but now I realize it's because it's the second day of my period. The second day is the worst! Everything makes me dizzy and feel sick.

Anyway, once I'd started shopping it was so easy to just continue. I also bought this hippie-dippie cotton shirt/ tunic type thing, in really strong, warm, red colours. Yeah. And a scarf, basically because the saleswoman was so nice (and a kindergarten parent) and I felt bad not bying anything after having tried on practically everything in the store. And the scarf was nice.

What else is there to say about today? It was good seeing (some of) the kids again. This 2-year-old called Angelina spent almost the entire day around me, saying "An-nie, yoo need ta cawwy me!" So I carried her. And a 1-year-old who thinks about food every time she sees me. She comes running as fast as her little legs can go, reaches her arms up for me to lift her, and says "Food?" It's hilarious!

By the way, we are now four people with a crush on PHD (Painfully Hot Dad). Just thought I'd mention it. Not sure why.

And again I've been walking around with The National songs stuck in my head. Mostly because of the meme Angelina (the big one, not the 2-year-old) posted in her blog.

You went in and put a record on
To make it sound like someone was home
And thanked yourself for pouring yourself a drink
