Obsessions

Why can I never be content with just liking something? Why these obsessions? At the moment I have two of them. It started with a movie called Ondine, which became an obsession even before I was halfway through it. Then I discovered this Icelandic band called Sigur Rós has made the score for the movie, which resulted in an obsession with Sigur Rós!

To be fair, I did discover Sigur Rós five years ago, when they released their otherworldly beautiful album Takk..., and I was slightly obsessed with them back then, too. This band will get me in trouble some day. I kind of disappear someplace else when I listen to them, so I've already nearly been hit by cars, suddenly realized I've been walking in the middle of the road, forgotten what I was doing, not been listening to people, forgotten to unload the dishwasher two seconds after Mom asked me to do it, been late to work because I was stupid enough to listen to them on my way over there, not realizing that other people have entered the room when I was on my break, and so on... endlessly. Now I understand what the saying "I'm all ears" really means...

I also have a new favourite word: selkie. And I want to learn Icelandic.
